CARD OF THE WEEKEND: December 3-4, 2022

  The High Priestess

The Gilded Tarot

by Ciro Marchetti

December 3-4, 2022: Ciro Marchetti's Gilded Tarot brings ua a High Priestess completely devoid of the inscrutable, awe-inspiring nature of some more traditional HP figures. In fact, Marchetti presents his High Priestess as a lithe dancer gracefully arched between moon and sea. She wears a carnival half-mask and a diaphonous, star-sprinkled gown.

Dreamy, dreamy, dreamy! This High Priestess looks indeed, well, high

If we want to approach her, keep up with her, and learn her holy secrets, we might have to let go of rationality and any restrictive boxes we find or put ourselves in.

This card does not encourage indulgence in substances this weekend but, rather, it models what it means to let your mind slip free of its habitual channels. It's a good time for meditations that go deeper (and further) than the immediacy of mindfulness. Also a grand time for ritual, dreaming, meaningful spiritual study, and flights of creative imagination and pleasure.
