CARD OF THE DAY: March 31, 2022

Temperare

The Gill Tarot

by Elizabeth Josephine Gill

March 31, 2022: All of the elements show up in Temperare, the Temperance of Elizabeth Josephine Gill's eponymous Tarot deck. Her crowned angel conjures a blend of Air, Earth, Fire, Water, and Spirit (or Aether). By doing so--and, in her graceful gesture, uniting Above with Below--the angel creates an atmosphere in which no one element will get out of whack. Even elements that might appear radically different in nature and incompatible somehow connect, blend, and work together.

Notice that fire rising from the water? And, no, I don't think we're talking about the various times burning oil slicks turned Ohio's polluted Cayuhoga into a river of fire!

What is that wall of flames rising out of the water? My first thought is: fervent action based in and continuously fueled by deep passion. I invite you to consider how that might apply to you and the opportunities and concerns of your day.

What feelings and passions may be stirred and freed, to great benefit, as you address the actions--from mundane to extraordinary--that will make up your day? How do they power and serve your intentions, your reserves of energy, your efficacy?

CARD OF THE DAY: March 30, 2022

 The Hermit

Tarot for Cats

by Regen Dennis with art by Kipling West

March 30, 2022: In traditional Tarot decks, you'd be more likely to find The Hermit off alone somewhere because, well, hermit. In Tarot for Cats, The Hermit's solitude has been interrupted by a young visitor, an inquisitive kitten.

Which are you, then? Reclusive hermit? Or impetuous seeker?

And what might you have to say to the Other? Or to that other part of yourself?

I think both of these characters have lively energy and great appeal, as painted by Kipling West, and I invite you to dive into that scene and imagine a conversation between the two--potential mentor and mentee--about a matter of interest or concern to you today.

And what do you think might be in that locked chest behind Hermit's tower of books? So much more to be revealed!

CARD OF THE DAY: March 29, 2022

Six of Wands

Oriens Animal Tarot

by Ambi Sun

March 29, 2022: Your most familiar Six of Wands might show a victorious hero riding high amid cheering supporters--externally validated success and reward. Artist Ambi Sun, on the other hand, underscores confidence and radiance that rise from within, just from being who one truly is. The peacock struts its natural, if outlandish, splendor. Of course, everything is a matter of degree, and the guidebook for Sun's wonderful Oriens Animal Tarot cautions against a reversed Six of Wands' overbearing peacockiness!

But where are those six wands?

See the long feathers curving up from each side of the peacock? We tend to think of Tarot's wands as hefty, rigid staffs of wood or metal. In this case, though, Sun makes them silky, delicate, and vulnerable-looking. Still, draped behind the bird like the long train of a ball gown or held aloft like milady's fan, they are beautiful implements of high magick.

So, just for today, think of the softness and crafty subtlety of your powers. Sometimes, magickal power is as natural as breathing in and breathing out.

CARD OF THE DAY: March 28, 2022

Garden

Golden Thread Lenormand

by Tina Gong

March 28, 2022: When I first saw the gold-on-black images from artist Tina Gong's Golden Thread Lenormand, I knew I had to have it. These cards are--trust me--both minimalist and glamorous. I regret that my iPhone shots can't do their allure justice, and that's why they've not turned up on hummingwitch until just now.

I also regret the accidental scratch mark across the bench on Gong's Garden card which, for some annoying reason, looks far worse in this photo than it does on the card itself where you can barely see it. But you can look up images from this deck elsewhere online and discover how truly beautiful it is.

You might not notice anyone walking around Gong's garden, but allow yourself to imagine a large, sunny, airy, gracious, welcoming space. This space is open to the public, a gathering place for community and exchange. It represents things that are above board, out there for all, and communal.

With this as your Card of the Day, think about activities, projects, communication, or engagements that are public-facing or about your role in a wider sphere of interchange, collaboration, and influence.

The bench is a particularly attractive touch (if you ignore my unfortunate scratch). Think about who, living or in Spirit, you might like to invite to that bench for a chat. If you can't arrange this literally, then imagine that conversation and see what comes of it.

CARD OF THE WEEKEND: March 26-27, 2022

above:

Queen of Swords

The Light and Shadow Tarot

Brian Williams with art by Michael Goepferd

below:

Judith with the Head of Holofernes (1520/1540)

by Lucas Cranach the Elder

March 26-27, 2022: We've seen Tarot's Queen of Swords here before, and a formidable monarch she is, always. This time though, Michael Goepferd's art for The Light and Shadow Tarot evokes the apocryphal tale of the Israelite widow Judith who saved her embattled city by seducing and slaying the drunken Assyrian general Holofernes.

Take a glance at the card's lower left corner. Is that not Judith's trophy, the sorry general's head?

Judith is an icon of heroic resistance, often depicted by master painters such as German Renaissance artist Lucas Cranach the Elder and Italian Baroque artist Artemisia Gentileschi.

As I see it, Goepferd introduces two arresting and useful qualities that enhance our usual relationship with the Queen of Swords:

First, Goepferd's Queen is not only an expert on all things related to the magickal element of Air and the Sword as ritual tool. She is an experienced warrior who, more than a few times, has risen from her throne to throw down. Not just a symbol of dominion, her sword has been tested in battle.

Second, when you approach her--perhaps with a question or petition--you'll readily see that Goepferd's Queen has already taken action on your behalf, and she's proud to show you the result--gruesome though it may be. It's as if she's saying, "Look! I've done it!"

Done it. Got it. Bagged it. Next question!

CARD OF THE DAY: March 25, 2022

Nine of Swords

Neo Tarot

by Jerico Mandybur with art by Daiana Ruiz

March 25, 2022: Here we meet another one of Tarot's scary cards--Nine of Swords, this time imaged by artist Daiana Ruiz for Neo Tarot. Those nine layered, interlocking swords dominate the atmosphere, weighing heavily on the vulnerable human below. Excedrin Headache # 9.

This card can suggest the aftermath of a nightmare, or it can suggest a hard time dropping off to sleep with a busy mind filled with troubles. In either case, the best way to approach this sign is to accept difficulties, fear, and anxiety as parts of the human experience that can visit any of us from time to time.

Your brain will process puzzling and disturbing experiences from life events, producing mental images that can be weirdly cryptic or obvious in their meaning. Waking life, for that matter, can also have its nightmarish elements. Consider all the unrelenting stress that most of us have been feeling, in these 2020s, piling on from so many sources.

Should Nine of Swords come up in a reading, look to surrounding or accompanying cards for assistance in understanding the source and triggers as well as the potential process for resolving your problem(s).

This Nine is certainly not the most pleasant Card of the Day, but what can you do? Shit happens, day or night, close at hand and half-way around the world. What makes a difference is how we choose to face it and deal with it.

As a child, I suffered relentless, recurring nightmares clearly linked to traumatic difficulties in my home life. One time, though, in the middle of one of these cruel dreams, I turned to face and question the monster that was always lurking and chasing me, forcing me into futile hiding places. Because I challenged it, I never had another one of those nightmares--though now, as an elder, I do still have the occasional nightmare or frustration dream when I am most stressed out.

Recognize bad stuff for what it is, sometimes--even often--a good opportunity to meet a nagging problem head on, square up, and dismantle it. Be sure to lavish yourself with compassion and care all through this process.

Be the best friend to yourself that you can be.

CARD OF THE DAY: March 24, 2022

The Earth Mother

The Tarot of Transformation

by Jasmin Lee Cori with art by Willow Arlenea

March 24, 2022: Sky and Earth abound with magickal generativity. In artist Willow Arlenea's depiction of The Earth Mother, known in more traditional Tarot decks as The Empress, there's no separation between Spirit and Matter, no distinction between coiling serpent and coiling galaxy. Both form the visible garment of Goddess.

Focus on generosity, on gifts as they manifest, whether seen or unseen but otherwise perceived.

The Earth Mother's answer to every question or every need is creative. Fruitful thoughts. Positive and protective actions. Blessings all around.

CARD OF THE DAY: March 23, 2022

Il Diavolo (The Devil)

Cani Tarot

by Osvaldo Menegazzi

March 23, 2022: Yeah, sometimes we've got to deal with scary Tarot.

The Majors-only Cani Tarot gives us this big bad dog resting high on its stone pedestal surrounded by a wall of flames, billowing toxic smoke, a chain barrier, and the three lethal-looking "teeth" of his trident. At the moment, he himself doesn't look particularly scary, but...

"Don't get any closer!"

In other images of Tarot's Devil you might find a couple of humans who seem already hypnotized into their captor's power, too distracted to free themselves although the chains around their necks are ridiculously loose. But Osvaldo Menegazzi's Il Diavolo is just sitting up there all by himself as if to say, "You'd be a fool--or The Fool--to get anywhere near me. Fuck around and find out!"

Okay, okay! Thanks for that warning. We'll back off.

So, for today, sharpen your attention to details and be more cautious and skeptical. Maybe don't take that impulsive lunge this time. At least examine things carefully before you agree to them. Consider the long-term implications or consequences. Pick apart the smooth, seductive rhetoric. Read the fine print. If not, you'll wake up one day and realize you're trapped.

Trapped, burned, bitten, gassed, speared by that trident.

Just turn and walk away if things don't seem right. Your gut ain't lying to ya, and Menegazzi's Il Diavolo is giving you a fair chance to save yourself.

CARD OF THE DAY: March 21, 2022

 King of Wands

The Gill Tarot

by Elizabeth Gill

March 21, 2022: Feel the heat? How can you not? This card is pure fire! And we've just entered the season of fire sign Aries and the beginning of Spring.

King of Wands, as imaged by Elizabeth Gill in The Gill Tarot, is an old flame. He is a venerable and reliable source of energy and warmth. Like the lion that rests at the king's throne, he is, at this moment, peacefully stable yet alert and ready.

You are invited to approach the throne as you may need. What energy do you seek? The power for what aim? Tarot's kings have historical experience and expertise. They're excellent strategists with a strong sense of what usually works or does not work.

Elizabeth Gill adds a keyword--Innovation--which you may or may not ignore, according to your wish. (A lot of Tarot readers might prefer artists to avoid this kind of add-on.) But if you do choose to consider the word "innovation," maybe think about the fire energy of mind and creativity. Where do you turn to find generative ideas that will set change in motion?

Taking care, respectfully approach the throne.

CARDS OF THE WEEKEND: March 19-20, 2022

Strength and Three of Wands

Oak, Ash & Thorn Tarot (Volume I of Three Trees Tarot)

by Stephanie Burrows with art by Adam Oehlers

March 1-20, 2022: Here's a completely different visual conception of Tarot's Strength card! Instead of a raging (or forcefully subdued) lion, in their Oak, Ash & Thorn Tarot, Stephanie Burrows and artist Adam Oehlers give us a magickal badger subduing a raging serpent. Forest creatures look on as the heroic and charming badger defends them against threat. Look at the infinity sign resting where its Third Eye chakra would be if badgers had chakras--and, surely, they have them!

There's strength in leadership and in community here, strength in the combination of nature's energies. Everybody brings something. The forest is less a thing than a dynamic interweaving of numerous interdependent beings, the key to survival. What message does that have for you?

I'm adding Three of Wands to your resources for this weekend and encouraging you to find the sacred space, bathed in atmospheric light, that this version of the card so clearly evokes. What has been lifted so that you now can breathe and enjoy peace?

Strength (especially in community) and sacred peace (in which you may sometimes be alone but never truly isolated) are the watchwords for your weekend.

Here's our CARD OF THE WEEK...and winner!

The Star

Morgan-Greer Tarot

by Lloyd Morgan with art by Bill Greer

Here's a big thanks πŸ’“ to those of you

who played along to guess our CARD OF THE WEEK!

We have one winner!

Congratulations to Michele Brangwen!

Yay!

Michele did not guess the exact card, which was required to win a full 60-minute reading. However, her guess of The Moon--another a Major Arcana card--qualifies her for a one-card reading on a specific question.

******

Now, a few remarks about The Star.

The influence of The Star cannot be overestimated. This wonderful archetypal figure represents the nerve center of a network of influence, communication, and ultimate action.

This card shows up as you--center of your network, inspirer and instigator of thought and behavior--or as someone active in your situation or environment. As depicted by artist Bill Greer, The Star brings lush fertility to her surroundings.

So, look to the prominent questions or concerns you find yourself holding during this week.

Does The Star suggest your own resourceful an influential role in things? Or does it suggest someone to whom you should turn or with whom you should collaborate?

Is The Star of earthly manifestation--in which case, this living-breathing person would be quite amazing--or is The Star an internal force, part of your psyche, or a spiritual force you connect with through ritual, meditative practice, or creative work?

GUESS OUR CARD OF THE WEEK! March 14-18, 2022

Your hostess, Eva Yaa Asantewaa

  Card of the Week???

It's a mystery!

March 14-18, 2022:

Surprise!

Enter our contest today to win a free reading for yourself or a friend!

How?

Guess the hummingwitch Tarot CARD OF THE WEEK (March 14-18), posting your guess to me today via the Contact Eva form, Facebook Messenger, Twitter direct message, or direct email, if you have it.

Your entries must include your email address and reach me by 5pm Eastern today, March 14.

******

To win the top prize--a free 60-minute Zoom reading--you must guess the exact card.

Note: To make this easier and more uniform, the card will be drawn from a deck based on Rider-Waite-Smith structure and imagery, all 78 standard cards.

******

Plus, you have other chances to be a winner! Check this out:

If your guess fits either of the following criteria, you will win a free one-card reading that covers one specific question by email or brief mp3 recording:

  • if the correct card is a Major Arcana card, and your guess is another one of the Major Arcana cards (e.g., The Empress is correct, and you've guessed The Chariot)
  • if the correct card is a court card (Queen, King, Knight, or Page), and you've guessed the exact court figure even if it is from a different suit (Swords, Wands, Pentacles or Cups). So, if the King of Cups is the correct card, and you've guessed the King of Pentacles, you win.

If your guess fits either of the following criteria, you will win a free generic one-card reading by email or brief mp3 recording (note: not covering a specific question):

  • if the correct card has the same element (Sword/Air, Wands/Fire, Pentacles/Earth, or Cups/Water) as the card you guessed, you win. You guessed Six of Wands and the correct card was Four of Wands.
  • if the correct card is a number card with the same number as the card you guessed. So, if the 10 of Cups is the correct card, and you guessed 10 of Swords, you win.

******

Again, here are the contest instructions:

You must post your guess to me today via one of the following:

  • Contact Eva form (in the right column of this blog)
  • Facebook Messenger
  • Twitter direct message
  • Direct email, if you have it.

To be eligible, your entries must include your email address and reach me absolutely no later than 5pm Eastern today, March 14.

The CARD OF THE WEEK will be announced in a hummingwitch post and on social media on the morning of Tuesday, March 15 and arrangements can then be made with all winners by email for either the one-hour Zoom session or brief one-card reading.

Have fun! 😍

CARD OF THE WEEKEND: March 12-13, 2022

 Crone of Blades

Daughters of the Moon Tarot

by Ffiona Morgan

March 12-13, 2022: I feel tremendous uplift just looking at this card. I feel the mighty power of the rising eagle and the extraordinary clarity and decisiveness of the Crone of Blades (aka, in regular Tarot, Queen of Swords). This fully-confident force has got the strength of the full moon and the mountains behind her. Watch out! She does not play.

As channeled by Ffiona Morgan, this Crone/Queen does not wield the emblematic sword, but her symbolic lantern and scissors are at hand to cut through any confusion, nonsense, or excess. There times, you know, when you have to call on the Crone!

And, as much as she is a Tarot archetype, she's far from an abstract idea. She manifests. I'm sure you have a least one fierce person in your life you can count upon to serve in her role. Perhaps you are that person for yourself and other people!

All right, then. Let's see how she shows up this weekend--or how you show up!

******

ALERT!

Next Monday, you'll have another chance to win a free reading! Watch for Monday morning's CARD OF THE WEEK post and make your best guess!

CARD OF THE DAY: March 11, 2022

The Persona

The Wisdom Well

by Ivarna Kalinkova

March 11, 2022: Here's a card from The Wisdom Well, a highly non-traditional oracle deck inspired by the visionary psychoanalytic teachings of Carl Gustav Jung.

With this card, The Persona, Ivarna Kalinkova explores the performative outer self we often show the world. Subject to our willful control, our outer mask obscures the true inner self which, we fear, might not meet with approval or get us what we want or think we need in life.

This Persona has a wonderful image, invoking that moment when a circus clown makes one final check of his/her/their reflection in the dressing room's light-ringed mirror before heading out to the stage.

As our Card of the Day, The Persona suggests we pause to consider if we actually need a disguise or code switch for our protection or advantage--something we may deploy merely out of habit--or if we can afford to greet the situation at hand with courageous authenticity.

Are you facing a legitimate and useful "fake-it-'til-you-make-it" moment? Is it better to shapeshift and blend in for now and do what the Romans do? Or should you bravely show your true face to the world, come what may?

CARD OF THE DAY: March 10, 2022

Three of Cups

above: The Diamond Tarot by Marie-Louise Bergoint,

art by Klaus Holitzka

below: Neo Tarot by Jerico Mandybur,

art by Daiana Ruiz

March 10, 2022: One deck frames a familiar Tarot image with bright and distracting psychedelica; the other presents us with the same story idea but rendered with graceful simplicity. Take your pick between these two or among many others. Three of Cups invites you to a well-deserved celebration. It's party time!

Three of Cups suggests that you take time off to enjoy generosity and pleasure, especially in the cheerful company of friends and loved ones.

Work or times of deep, perhaps challenging reflection now give way to ease and appreciation for one's accomplishments and gains. Where possible, share joy and abundance, helping others, as well as yourself, to store up good feelings that can be recalled and drawn upon in harder times.

CARD OF THE DAY: March 9, 2022

 Seeker of Pentacles

World Spirit Tarot

by Madame Onca O'Leary, Lauren O'Leary, and Jessica Godino

March 9, 2022: The Seeker of Pentacles and his steed are always a hearty pair, taking their time as they wend their way towards an ultimate destination. I like the warm, earthy colors chosen for them in World Spirit Tarot and the hints of autumn harvest.

The Seeker--this would be a Knight in a more traditional Tarot deck--holds a pentacle aloft and gazes at it with pride and reverence. It is worth that careful attention and devotion.

Are you the Seeker/Knight today? Or are you the potential recipient of this traveler's precious gift, whatever it might turn out to be?

Don't worry if manifestation of hoped-for/worked-for things take a little longer than you might prefer. They'll arrive or resolve in due time, and the extra time might yield something even better than what you've dreamed.

CARD OF THE DAY: March 8, 2022

The High Priestess

Neo Tarot

by Jerico Mandybur with art by Daiana Ruiz

March 8, 2022: I'm totally loving the conjoined duality in Neo Tarot's High Priestess. Is that white hair short or long? Honey, it's both. Is that body suit, those juggled balls, strongly contrasting colors. Of course! Why not? Waxing moon or waning moon? Yes!

But what's really jazzy about this particular High Priestess is what has happened to the archetypal scroll of secrets. Ruiz's HP is so busy juggling those balls that the famous scroll has completely unscrolled and spills from her lap. Why, you might even be able to walk right up to it and read everything that's written there.

So, why don't you?

Go ahead. Honestly, I don't think this particular High Priestess would mind.

If you recall, I always talk about how Tarot's High Priestess, though intimidating to many seekers, is actually the fiercest, most demonstrably loyal of friends, one I so appreciate. And this High Priestess isn't even remotely intimidating!

So, what do you need to know today? Really, really, really know? Like, it matters a great deal?

Ask. You may never get a better chance!

CARD OF THE DAY: March 7, 2022

Il Mondo (The World)

Tarocchi DΓΌrer

by Giancinto Gaudenzi

March 7, 2022: Tarocchi DΓΌrer, by Lo Scarabeo artist Giancinto Gaudenzi, is another of those fantastic Major Arcana decks that I'm thrilled to have but which sit untouched in their boxes or bags, unused for readings. Gaudenzi's intricate illustrations were inspired by the engravings of German Renaissance artist Albrecht DΓΌrer, a favorite of mine, and I hear there's a later edition of Tarocchi DΓΌrer that includes both the Major and the Minor Arcana.

If you do purchase a collector's deck of this nature, you can still learn from it and bond with it by selecting or randomly drawing a single card per day and propping it up in a location where, now and then, you might catch a glimpse of it. In those moments, let it speak to you.

Don't spend an inordinate amount of time straining to rationally interpret it. Rather, allow serendipitous moments of encounter to surface insights that even the most seasoned Tarotista might find refreshing and satisfying.

In creating this CARD OF THE DAY series on hummingwitch, my ultimate aim has been to inspire you to take charge of your own experience with Tarot and other divination tools, and I hope you're flowing along and taking those opportunities. This is way more than "What's my daily fortune?"

To that end, do see what comes to mind as you gaze at Gaudenzi's tender Il Mondo. As I've mentioned before, each artist can't help but put his, her or their spin on these familiar archetypes, and this one gives me a few ideas about The World card I had not previously considered.

What does it say to you?

CARD OF THE WEEKEND: March 5-6, 2022

Two of Pentacles

Morgan-Greer Tarot

March 5-6, 2022: With strong water and air symbols of ongoing change in its background, Bill Greer's Two of Pentacles also makes two gleaming pentacles, earth symbols, prominent and foregrounded. Like glowing headlights. Like shields.

Steady as you go, mate. Keep things organized and manageable while the environment around you undergoes shifts, expected and unexpected. Root yourself in something reliable, yet be flexible enough to respond to emergent needs.

Notice that the pentacles are not held in a straight horizontal line; there's a hint of movement and adaptability there, too. Change within and without is inevitable. How do you respond?

In the midst of all of this, uphold higher values that have always and will always sustained you.

CARD OF THE DAY: March 4, 2022

la Giustizia (Justice)

below: card back

Tarocchi di Vetro

by Elisabetta Trevisan

March 4, 2022: Elisabetta Trevisan's beautiful and quite sturdy Tarocchi di Vetro features Major Arcana symbols as color-saturated stained-glass images. And just look at that intricate, exquisite card back!

There are no Minor Arcana cards in this deck, and it has always been, for me, solely a treasured collector's item.

Today, la Giustizia (Justice) calmly weighs all matters and renders an assessment that allows for confident movement forward. She interrogates all aspects of a situation and helps you carefully identify the pros and cons of any pending decision. She is not swayed by manipulation, and neither will she allow you to be. So, what in your life needs sorting today?

As a Major Arcana archetype, Justice is best approached regarding matters of significant importance, especially those with broad impact across different areas of your life. If your more immediate concern is a relatively minor one, you might want to consider how this concern fits into a larger pattern and how solving this small issue might offer a clue to solving others or a way to approach weightier matters.

Justice can easily connect the relevant dots and offer useful insights regarding what's fair and right and how to restore balance. Always ask with respect.

CARD OF THE DAY: March 3, 2022

Seven of Pentacles

Animals Divine

by Lisa Hunt

March 3, 2022: This Seven of Pentacles, from Lisa Hunt's Animals Divine deck, really makes you take a careful look. Hunt's pentacles are rendered as simple, five-pointed stars appearing to grow, like fruit, from the branches of a tree. Her elegant giraffe lifts its head to pluck one of them.

But, wait, why only four pentacles in that tree?

Actually, there are three more in the painting--one stamped into the soil, two others pressed into the tree's trunk.

Hunt's image reminds us that ambition is best combined with being securely grounded. There are stars secreted all around us, even in the mundane earth.

So, what are you reaching for today? How are you lengthening that reach and expanding your possibilities? And what are the wise foundations of your efforts?

Take a chance. Reach for your stars. But don't forget the roots, the basics, and what gives you continual nourishment. This is also a good day to look around for sweet surprises from the ancestors.

CARD OF THE DAY: March 2, 2022

Owls

Gilded Reverie Lenormand Expanded Edition

by Ciro Marchetti

March 2, 2022: With his added Owls card, Ciro Marchetti expands the range of options that a traditional Lenormand oracle deck can offer. Where a Lenormand Birds card suggests mundane conversations and sometimes petty chatter, Marchetti's owls signify deeper communication in which matters of higher import and great wisdom can be transmitted from person to person or Spirit to mind.

That makes today an excellent time to make space for contemplation and meditation. Stay alert for signs and synchronicities that could bring meaningful messages. Perhaps you will recognize the answer to a question or a solution to a major problem that you've been carrying close to your heart.

Certainly, it can be a good day for a deep heart-to-heart talk with someone important to you.

At the very least, grab some private time, and give yourself a reading. You owe this to yourself!

CARD OF THE DAY: March 1, 2022

King of Spades

and card back

March 1, 2022: People, I'm discovering how many playing card decks I've somehow accumulated over the years--this one from a New Zealand trip many years ago--and I'm ashamed to say I don't even play card games! Really! Is that weird?

I'm sure all nine adorable kiwis on the back of these cards had something to do with this souvenir purchase.

Such a worried-looking warrior King of Spades, though, one whose crowned head lies uneasy. See the pained expression in his eyes? And no matter in which direction he looks, things don't look good.

As a Card of the Day, this feels dire. But there may be one way to seize opportunities within difficulties. In Tarot, my kings speak to me of history and legacy, a connection with past expertise and past wins and with a strong ancestral legacy that can be one's anchor and base for survival and a future.

This is a good day to seek the vigilance, counsel, and support of ancestral spirits.
